Education Facilities AED Program
This year over 33,000 Australians will die from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). It can strike anyone and sadly and although rare is estimated that up to 350 juvenile lives in Australia each year but it doesn’t have to be that way.
Early defibrillation is rapidly becoming the benchmark standard of care throughout communities and although not everyone can be saved from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), history has shown that with an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) Program in school or on campus, a victims chances of survival increase from 5% to well above 50% if defibrillated in the first few minutes.
When a victim experiences Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), every minute counts; every minute a victim goes without defibrillation, the chances for survival decrease by 7%-10%.
Everyday, lives are being saved by the prompt delivery of a life-saving defibrillation shock from AEDs. With AEDs installed throughout education facilities, many people who die each year of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) during related activities could be saved.
